Batchwise

Scale recipes by servings, a multiplier or what you have. Cups to grams too.

Batchwise resizes recipes. Type a recipe in once with its usual number of servings, then make it for two people or for twenty, without doing the arithmetic on the back of an envelope.

THREE WAYS TO SCALE

• Servings: the recipe serves 4 and you need 10. Step the count up and every amount follows.
• Multiply: half, double, triple, or any multiplier you type, such as 2.5.
• I have…: you only have 350 ml of buttermilk. Pick that ingredient, enter what you have, and the rest of the recipe is sized to match. Units are converted for you, so grams work against a recipe written in kilos and milliliters against cups.

AMOUNTS THAT READ LIKE A RECIPE

• US measures show as kitchen fractions: 1 1/2 cups, 3/4 tsp.
• Units step up as amounts grow: 3 tsp becomes 1 tbsp, 1500 g becomes 1.5 kg.
• Under a cup, odd sizes stay in tablespoons, so you never see a 3/8 cup you can't measure.
• Choose to keep each recipe's own units, or show everything in metric or in US cups.
• Each line shows the original amount underneath, and you can tick lines off while you cook.

CUPS TO GRAMS Convert between volume and weight for 20 common ingredients: flour, sugars, butter, milk, oil, honey, cocoa, oats, rice and more. Typical weights for spooned-and-leveled cups are listed side by side.

PAN SWAP The recipe calls for an 8 inch round pan and you have a 9 × 13. Enter both pans (round, square or rectangle, in inches or centimeters) and Batchwise tells you how much to multiply the batter by, then sends that multiplier straight to any saved recipe.

YOUR RECIPE BOX

• Up to 60 recipes with up to 40 ingredients each, plus notes for the method.
• Amounts can be typed as 1 1/2, ½ or 0.75; leave one empty for "to taste".
• Two sample recipes to try it out, which you can edit or delete.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN Batchwise works completely offline. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Your recipes stay on your phone and are removed when you uninstall the app.
